KONSEPSI TAREKAT KHALWATIYAH SAMMAN TERHADAP PENGAMALAN KITAB AL BARZANJI DI KABUPATEN MAROS

This research is entitled: the Khalwatiyah Samman Tarekat’s conception of the practice of the Book of Al Barzanji in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. Formulation of the research problem.First, how does the Khalwatiyah Order understand the recitation of the Al Barzanji viewed from the data numbers of the Khalwatiyah Order in Maros Regency? Third, what is the influence of the Al Barzanji text on the values of the Khalwatiyah Order in Maros Regency. The research method used is qualitative, with, Sufisme (tasawuf), and philosophical approaches. The data from this research was obtained from the congregation of the khalwatiyah Samman order. Data collection methods included interviews, documentation, observation, and identification. The results of the research show that, first, the Khalwatiyah Samman Order understands the Al-Barzanji text as a sacred practice that strengthens spirituality, love for the Prophet, and serves as a medium of da‘wah. Second, the practice of Al-Barzanji is integrated into the order’s rituals, such as dhikr, maulid, and local ceremonies (such as mappa’cing and hakikah), performed with the distinctive rhythms and naqab of the Bugis Maros tradition. Third, the Al-Barzanji text significantly influences the values of the order, including the cultivation of noble character among its members and the preservation of Bugis–Makassar cultural identit. The implication of this study concludes that the conception of the Khalwatiyah Samman Order toward Al-Barzanji represents a dynamic form of acculturation between Islamic teachings and local culture. It functions as a medium for spreading Sufi values and fostering community unity. Theoretically, this research contributes to the research of local Islam and Sufi orders in Indonesia, while practically, it can serve as a reference for preserving moderate and culturally grounded religious traditions.
